Valmeinier Ski Trip

Valmeinier is a small traditional village that is linked to the resort of Valloire making this the largest ski area in the region. The resort itself is set 1800m between the Vanoise and Ecrins National Parks on the divide of the Northern and Southern Alps. It is a modern, purpose built resort that is built in a style that fits in well with its unspoilt rural surroundings.

Valmeinier has direct access to 150km of downhill skiing, with 78 individual pistes that are served by 34 ski lifts. There are a great variety of pistes suitable for all levels of ability including wide blue and red ''motorways'' and tougher descents such as the excellent JMB heads down towards Valloire or the mogul fields. Advanced skiers will also enjoy the Cascade and Olympique pistes, two of the six blacks in the area. Valmeinier also has a great snow record with 400 snow cannons covering 50km of ski runs.

Valmeinier 1800 is a very compact and peaceful resort, making it ideal for families and groups. There are a small selection of cafes, bars, restaurants and plenty of shops. For après ski entertainment there are two cinemas and a bowling alley and for further activities the neighbouring village of Valloire is only a short journey away. Other winter activities that are available are ice skating, snow shoe walking, dog sledding and night skiing, so there’s plenty to keep your group entertained off the slopes.
