The largest ski area in the Banff region and one of the biggest in all of North America is Lake Louise. The area has some of the most spectacular views; the high mountain scenery is beautiful, and the Victoria Glacier over the lake itself is stunning. The terrain is both vast and varied, there are 4200 acres of pistes, and the layout of the resort allows families and groups of all abilities to ski together.
Beginners and intermediate skiers are able to ski the gentle slopes and long cruising runs of Lake Louise. Whereas experts can explore the endless chutes, glades, gullies and remote bowls in some of the Rockies'' most challenging terrain. The ski slopes come in a wide variety with 25% of the runs green, 45% of the runs blue, and 30% black. The unique fact about the slopes is that there is access to a beginner, intermediate and expert run from every one of the lifts, making it perfect for mixed ability groups. The après-ski is pleasant with open fires, live music and lovely surroundings.
