Banff Ski Trip
from £1459 pp
Banff is a big Western Canadian resort, which attracts skiers and snowboarders worldwide to come and experience the ski areas on offer. The Canadian town has the benefits of being set in the beautiful Banff National Park, and only 2 hours drive from Calgary. The ski areas that make up the destination of Banff are Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise. Norquay (5350ft) is a small area of slopes that overlook the town of Banff (4530ft). The Sunshine Village (7080ft) is located on a much larger mountain and is just a 20 minute drive from Banff. Most visitors to Banff will buy a three-area pass that also covers Lake Louise (5400ft), a 45 minute drive away.
The ski area caters for skiers and boarders of all abilities, from the steep black runs of Goat’s Eye, to the long green runs of Meadow Park. In the Tri-area pass region 23% of the runs are green, 39% are blue and 38% are black. Mt. Norquay is a local favourite and offer the only night skiing in the area. Lake Louise is the giant in Canadian skiing, the largest resort, and is perfect for mixed ability groups, with beginner, intermediate and expert runs from every chair. Sunshine Village is renowned for its height and its lengthy season, early November till late May. The Banff après-ski is lively at night with live music and nightclubs.
