Kleinwalsertal Ski Trip

from £699 pp

The Kleinwalsertal ski resort in Austria covers the villages of Hirschegg, Mittelberg and Riezlern and is linked to the skiing at Oberstdorf in Germany, with the main ski area being Nebelhorn, Fellhorn/Kanzelwand and the Söllerek. 124km of slopes makes Kleinwalsertal-Oberstdorf the largest Austrian-German ski area. Skiing in Kleinwalsertal means guests can ski in two countries during their trip, making it unique to other ski destinations in the Alps. Oberstdorf is a large, picturesque, cosmopolitan, little-known Bavarian resort, and the Austrian region of Kleinwalsertal is entirely surrounded by Germany. The ski resort of Kleinwalsertal, in Vorarlberg, has direct access to 80km of downhill skiing, with 65 individual pistes, served by 32 ski lifts. With skiing above 2000 metres, snow cover is generally reliable. There are 50km of winter walks and 50km of cross-country skiing, 8 ski schools and three non-ski kindergardens.

The summit of the Nebelhorn has the most challenging skiing, with two black and two red runs ending at the Koblat chairlift (13% of the runs are advanced), but for advanced skiers most of the expert skiing is found off-piste. The ski resort has plenty to offer for intermediates (50% of the runs are blue) and beginners (37% of the runs are green).
